Our thoughts can wander near and far. Then at times our thoughts can delve into the depths of human kind, the world or the universe. The mirage of infinity draws us in to the vastness of known and unknown. It is the journey into the questions of why, what, when, where, and how that seem never ending. There is the need to know and the fascination with the unknown. The pondering of all the possibilities and the connections drive us to delve further and further. What is the meaning of life? The connection with all that was, is and ever will be.
We are part of the microcosm and the macrocosm. We explore the minutest interactions of molecules, cells, and energy. We expand out to understand globally and within the universe. The connections exist among the sub atomic to the broad spectrum of the universe. The exploration is on physical, mental, spiritual, conscious, and metaphysical plains. We experience on a practical grounded day in day out reality and at an existential level.
The questioning is ongoing. The ability to see connection across fields, concepts, levels of understanding or knowledge is endless.
The process of deep thinking can be a drive from within. To manage this drive can involve multiple strategies: 1) delving deeper and deeper with a safety line to reality through someone in particular or4 a simple alarm, signal, or routine that brings grounding; 2) minimizing the dive, curtailing our interactions or input relative to our particular dive triggers; 3) artificial stimulation to let the mind wander at times; 4) techniques to clear the mind – writing, journaling, drawing, crocheting, movement, music, mindfulness, bicycling, or …
Deep thinking like intensity in any format can both be an asset or nemesis. We need to acknowledge it, understand it, and manage it for our engagement in living life fully.
